With society’s increasing emphasis on energy conservation, state give more support to the semiconductor lighting industry, the development potential of LED lighting industry is more uncertain. The LED bulb as the main force to enter the home lighting, has reflected its huge market potential. However, LED bulb’s color and other optical properties are not ideal, LED angle is so small that it can not be achieved 4π lighting and cooling capacity is too low and other issues. In this paper, for the shortcomings of the above-mentioned white LED bulb, combined with the generally accepted by the public incandescent appearance, optimal design of a new type of white LED bulb, at the same time we carried out a detailed study of its source package, the whole lamp optical design and thermal design. The main research results as:(1) System of the dispensing volume while maintaining the same premise, in proportion to increase the amount of the yellow YAG phosphor, the nitrogen oxide red phosphor and Lu AG yellow-green phosphor, study the impact to the white LED color temperature, CRI and the emitting efficiency, then we analyzes and summarizes their impact rule. We studied systematically to the mixing ratio of phosphor and silica, Summarize the influence of its white LED color rendering index and luminous efficiency, to determine the most suitable powder binder ratio.Finally, based on the law and concluded, Success on the transparent ceramic substrate package power white LED bulb light which goals color temperature 2700K± 100 K, color rendering index ≥ 80, the luminous efficiency is not less than140 Lm / W.(2) We use non-imaging optics theory and Matlab software to design the LED lampshade, and simulation of the white LED bulb light situation by Trace Pro optical design software, in addition we research the LED light source position, the software simulation results show that: the new white LED bulb light angle to reach this design 129.4 °, and achieve the purpose of 4π lighting. Viewing angle actually measured is 125.5 °, and software results differ only 3.9 °. Also with the rise of the light source position, LED lights behind the lighting gradually.(3) We combined heat theory and ANSYS finite element thermal analysis software,for the fin spacing and number of white LED bulb radiator taken a detailed study.The simulation results show that: under the same conditions to maintain the fin pitch, we increase the fins of the LED radiator, the sink’s heat capacity to be stronger, but when the number of fins exceeds a certain number, the cooling capacity of the radiator will tend to stabilize. At the same time when the fin spacing was reduced from 3mm to 1.5mm, the radiator cooling capacity continued to improve.
