| With the rapid development of the urban society and economic, the traffic congestion is becoming normal and has spread to network wide. Optimize the travel mode properly is one of the most important means to relieve the congestion. And as one of the decisive factors in travel decisions, the travel costs affect the travel mode choice behavior directly, so the effective travel costs analysis can influence and change the travel mode. So far, many researchers have studied on the travel costs and obtained some achievements. However, because of the diversity travel mode and the increasing trip distance, a trip is no longer just one travel mode, there exists the travel mode chaining. Meanwhile, the researches on the cost of travel mode chaining are relatively limited, which can not support to make the scientific and reasonable traffic decisions. As a result, this paper studied on the cost of travel costs firstly, and then modelled the cost of travel mode chaining. RP and SP survey were adopted to calibrate the relative parameters. This paper mainly studied the following components:(1) In order to quantify the cost of the travel mode, the travel cost components were analyzed. RP and SP survey was proposed to determine the value of travel time, the value of travel time reliability and the value of travel time crowding. Then considering from the two aspects of travel expense and time cost, the model of the travel costs was established(2) The concepts of travel mode chaining were defined and discussed. The travel mode costs and the transfer costs composed the costs of travel mode chaining, but paid more attention to study on the transfer costs. The double bounded model was introduced to measure the transfer itself disutility; and the costs of transfer reliability were solved by the function of transfer waiting time, which was established based on the arrival time distribution. Combined the models of the travel costs and transfer costs, the methods of measuring the costs of travel mode chaining were proposed.(3) In the actual case, the resident trip characteristics in Hangzhou were briefly discussed. Depend on the above study, the resident travel costs and the costs of travel mode chaining were measured. The results showed that the cost of car was the largest, but if we ignored the ownership costs, the cost of car was close to the bus; the costs of main travel mode was smaller than the costs of travel mode chaining, which resulted in the deviation of policy-making. In the end, the suggestion of optimizing the travel mode in Hangzhou was put forward. |
