Traffic congestion and traffic safety in front of the primary school have manynegative effects to the regional traffic. The problem seriously affects the road andsurrounding road of primary school in order to spread the regional city road networkoperation. A series of problems，including the decline in traffic intersection and roadsection capacity, the lower level of service, the traffic accidents increasing，the vehicledelay and so on.The main causing of the traffic problem is due to the short time traffic flow is toolarge, far more than the road capacity. The vehicles of taking kids and working focuson the school gates and surrounding road in a short period of time. Therefore，thispaper according to the particularity of the traffic flow，through the investigation andanalysis of large amount of traffic. Including the students’ rest time and thecharacteristics of the survey, the primary school road traffic flow characteristics of theinvestigation, the students’ entrance road irregularities survey and road safety facilitiessurvey.We research the front problem mainly from traffic organization optimization ofprimary school gate, traffic information release and induction，parking management，safety facilities and traffic safety education and research system. Focus on theelementary school entrance road traffic organization measures and evaluation methods,network evaluation model is established; elementary school entrance road VMSdesign, including location, setting time, setting form and set the content. Temporaryparking management countermeasures were put forward for students to the entranceroad parking problem; finally, through conducts the research to the elementary schoolentrance road safety facilities, the facilities recommended settings and safetyeducation for pupils. Finding out the existing problems and its reasons. In view ofputting forward the theory basis and the solution of the traffic problem around theprimary school.
