As precision micro parts are used more and more widely in aerospace, semiconductor processing, medical equipment, precision instruments industry such and so on, the demand for precision micro parts of the industry is growing fast. Regular size machine is at a disadvantage in the machining accuracy, efficiency, economy tool processing miniature parts. In terms of special equipment for micro parts, the level of our country is still in initial stage, although foreign country developed practical precision miniature machine tools, so it is very necessary to develop miniature machine tool.This article is focus on building a high precision vertical micro NC milling machine. Through study the internal and external information carefully, finding that in the process of machine tool miniaturization,the mechanical structure dynamic and static performance, dynamic and static characteristics of the control system, the interface of CNC system is open、friendly and easy operational or not have the greatest influence on the precision of machine tools and machining efficiency, so this article is focus on how to improve the dynamic and static performance of the mechanical structure and develop the NC system.First of all, manufacture a three-axis micro vertical CNC milling machine driven by linear motor. According to the design requirements of the machine tool, determine the overall plan and layout of machine tool. Upon completion the selection and configuration of purchased components such as the linear motor, grating ruler, guide rail sliding block, finally developed a body size is350mmx200mmx200mm, schedule is100mm×100mm×80mm three axis vertical micro NC milling machine.In machine tool design stage, to obtain the good dynamic and static performance, establish the finite element model of the whole machine in the finite element analysis software ANSYS, complete the machine tool of dynamics and statics analysis. Discovered the weak part of the machine, ensure the machine tool’s dynamic and static performance, reduced the development time and cost of machine tool. After the completion the assembly of the machine, set up the experimental modal testing system of machine tool to test and verify the correctness of the finite element analysis results, measured the first six order natural frequency of machine tool and the corresponding vibration mode, confirmed the correctness and validity of the finite element model, ensure the accuracy of machine tool design.Finally, the numerical control system of the micro milling machine is developed. First, determine the PC+NC structure of open CNC system, completed the selection of the components of the numerical control system. Then, according to the use of micro milling machine characteristic, completed the numerical control system function module division, completed the open NC system software development with the Visual Studio2010and the library function provided by PMAC.
