With the rapid development of the smart grid, electric power telecommunication system requires higher standards of transmission network. The amount of business types and data scale has been continuously expanded, which leads to network structure complication and difficulties in operation and maintenance. Meanwhile, management staffs lack effective ways to verify planning schemes when deploying telecommunication businesses. Therefore, it is of great significance to design a planning simulation system for SDH optical transmission network, so as to make objective evaluations of the network, ensuring the effectiveness, reliability and security of business channels, and reducing the risk in network operation and construction investment.This paper focuses on the design and implementation of electric power transmission network planning simulation system based on resource models and businesses features together with planning and analysis requirements of SDH optical transmission network. The system is capable of unified modeling network resources and centralized resource management, reflecting business requirements to current network structures, and presenting analysis of the plans in terms of economies, network reliabilities and business reliabilities. The system is based on B/S structure, Flex front-end technology, J2EE and iBATIS data mapping framework. This paper introduces DFS algorithm and Floyd algorithm to make network reliabilities analysis based on cyclization rate, network diameter and key nodes. The system evaluates business reliabilities with recovery rate according to N-X analysis. Users can check construction costs of each scheme and make comparison among planning schemes. This paper introduces research background and related requirements of SDH planning simulation system. According to basic process of software engineering, this paper presents detailed design and implementation of network construction planning, network reliabilities analysis, business deployment, business reliabilities analysis and construction cost analysis. Finally, this paper presents demonstration of several main modules to show the practicability of the simulation system.
