With the rapid development of smart grid,intelligent substation as an important part of the grid,its scale and function are also expanded.The intelligent substation communication network completes the intercommunication function between substation devices,transmits electrical business and supports the reliable operation of the system.However,the existing substation networks often use Ethernet switching technology to share bandwidth resources.Data transmission is competitive and uncertain which seriously affected the transmission accuracy.The switching system use multi-layer network to process data packet,the certainty of transmission delay is insufficient.The system is difficult to ensure the real-time performance of electrical business and the robustness of this composite network is poor.Therefore,it is necessary to study the key technologies and performance of the new generation intelligent substation communication network,so as to enhance the transmission quality and operation stability of the communication system.This paper analyzed the requirement of new intelligent substation communication network business and communication technologies,studied the system structure and key technologies of networking based on core switching and passive optical network.Considering the actual demand,this paper studied the improved passive optical network,data packet delay detection method,business isolation and decided the new network structure of the experimental substation network.Then,this study established network model in OPNET software to simulate the business transmission delay under different conditions.The results show that the real-time transmission quality can meet technical standards.The reliability of the new generation communication network topology is analyzed by using the fault tree analysis method which based on the reliability block diagram.The results show that the new structure meets the requirement of stable operation.Finally,this study built new process layer communication network in the experimental substation and exceeded transmission delay test in actual environment.The test results are better than the design standards.
