With the rapid development of information technology, especially the depth applicationof3D CAD technology, manufacturing companies must have a high degree of flexibility torespond to rapidly changing and sustainable development market demands. In this paper, forthe problem of parts machining, combined with the technology of MBD, established the MBDmodel of the part, research the method of Manufacturability evaluation for parts in-depth,established the manufacturability evaluation system of parts feature-based under MBDenvironment, improved the accuracy and efficiency of the transfer of the manufacturinginformation, shortened the cycle of developing the new products, reduced the cost, improvedthe level of digital manufacturing, also reduced the human error rate, ensured the quality ofthe product.The MBD model and the manufacturing resource information model is the basis of themanufacturability evaluation, for this, in this paper established the MBD model of parts inSolidWorks, provided information support for the manufacturability evaluation. To reduce thesearch time, proposed the modeling of manufacturing resources feature based, established themodel of the manufacturing resource information, and established the relationship betweenthe model feature and manufacturing resources, simplified the vast of the manufacturingresources modeling.In Visual Basic6.0development platform, through the secondary development ofSolidWorks, for the MBD model of parts, get the manufacturing feature information, andinput the data in the manufacturability evaluation system, provided the data foundation for thesubsequent manufacturability evaluation.Established the manufacturability evaluation system for the MBD model: the structural processing evaluation and the machinability evaluation. First, reviewed the process of thefeatures according to the rules on the structural processing, then verified that the parts can bemanufactured in the existing manufacturing resources and environment, mainly from themachine, tools, fixtures, gauges and other resource constraints, and recorded themanufacturing resources can machined parts.With the above methods, evaluated and feedback the manufacturability of partscomprehensively and rationally, the box part as an application example, verified theeffectiveness and practicality of the method.
