With the rapid development of Chinese economy, the development of urbanization is getting faster, city population is more and more, in the town, the emergence of a large number of multi-layer, high-rise building and super high-rise buildings, including complex shape, the appearance of the building diversified structure, like gym, hotels and shopping malls and other public buildings, usually crowded, the outside of the building the grand style, spacious interior, the structure plane width is larger, and the sharing space and easy to form the structure form wear layer column complex. In addition in recent years, frequent seismic activity, causing serious harm, how to ensure the seismic performance of public buildings, in order to meet the "earthquake does not fall" requirement, must be considered in the public building problems. With the performance of seismic design based on the theory adopted by engineering field, the research and application has become a hot sector project. In this paper, a large space frame structure as an example, combined with the performance based seismic design of the following aspects of work:1, Combining with the requirements of a public building, Hefei mode under minor earthquake response spectrum analysis using the SATWE program, because the structure is the original structure, the parts can not meet the capacity requirements, but with enough safety on the whole, to ensure the safety of personnel, to ensure "not bad" small earthquake fortification target.2, Consider the earthquake will be in the structure of plastic, this paper adopts PUSH&EPDA elastoplastic analysis software, the structure of the pushover analysis. The results showed that the structure can collapse checking, meet the "earthquake does not fall", and the yielding mechanism structure can meet the "strong column and weak beam".The real seismic response of structure under3, the ground motion is considered, by using PUSH&EPDA software to the structure of the dynamic elastic-plastic time history analysis. The results show that, the selected three earthquake waves is more appropriate; structure can meet the "earthquake does not fall"; and find the weak component structure under earthquake, to strengthen in the actual design.4, According to the results of analysis, the structure of the reinforcement, which can meet the requirements of specification. 5, The strengthened structure of vibration type under minor earthquake response spectrum analysis, to meet the "fortification goal is not bad" small earthquakes, and each component meet the capacity requirements, meet the requirements of specification. In addition to the strengthened structure of pushover analysis and dynamic elastic-plastic time history analysis, the results show that after strengthened structure can also satisfy the fortification level target, strengthened structure in the earthquake damage mechanism of energy change, must be considered in the design.
