With China’s economic and social development and the target of rural drinking water safety project "twelfth five-year" nearly completion, rural centralized water supply utilities have made great progress and penetration of water supply has increased rapidly, thus have reversed the poor situation of rural residents’drinking water gradually. However, existing water supply project have a small scale of water supply, which leads to unstable water supply pressure and high frequency of water supply cut-off accident and high operating costs. In addition, rural water supply covers a wide range of service area, this characteristic brings enormous amount of information in distribution network and great difficulty to make the current way of information management meet requirements of later water supply system on operation and management. Therefore, it is practical valuable to carry out research on the linking system of water distribution network in plain rural area based on GIS.The linking system of water distribution network is a water supply system which connects relatively centralized water supply systems in neighbor area together for unified development and allocation of water resources, and establishing local ring network according to the specific situation of the area in order to increase reliability of water supply and economic operation level. This paper is based on Mengcheng rural drinking water safety project, chooses Wangji, Banqiao and Tangji three centralized water supply project as the research object. This paper chooses WaterGEMS software to establish water distribution network microscopic model, which organizes and processes a large amount of pipe network data based on Geographic Database. By taking advantage of GIS functions of spatial data management and network analysis this paper extract data directly from existing water supply project design data, thus simplified the process of model establishing.Considering layout of water distribution network and the features of water supply project in the research area, this paper put forward three kinds of water distribution network linking schemes:multiple water pipe connection, main pipe connection and terminal connection of pipe tree branch. Then this paper takes hydraulic calculation of the three linking schemes under the condition of peak hour and water cut-off accident. Moreover, the article investigated pressure distribution in water supply region and contour map of pressure heads by taking advantage of the data visualization function of ArcGIS based on boundary flow algorithms. Combining the engineering fact, this paper get the optimized network linking scheme to achieve maximum benefit user scope by means of evaluate the contribution to water pressure and guarantee degree of water supply under a particular economic system. The research shows that head higher than35m reduced by about30%and head lower than20m improved about50%, and can guarantee the water demand more than85%when taking the scheme of terminal connection of tree branch in Wangji and Banqiao waterworks.
