Hydropower turbine governor is the core of the system hardware, its performancedirectly affects the quality of generating capacity,and the valve is an important part ofHydropower Turbine governor, At home and abroad has been used and improved varietyof algorithm by improve the turbine governor control precision, Development ofhigh-precision control valve is to further enhance the overall accuracy of it. Combiningwith the topic on developing of the precision to component at home and abroad, thispaper adopts the giant magnetostrictive material developed a precision valve plates.Giant magnetostrictive material has advantages of large strain, fast high-precision, highresponse speed and reliability, At present it has been widely used in fluid transmissionand control precision, precision machining, and other applications. The nonlinearhysteresis of giant magnetostrictive materials and the complex of constitutiverelationship add the difficulty of its application,the coupling multiphysics field leading toincrease difficulties in the theory study, The present commonly used commercial finiteelement software ANSYS, COMSOL Multipysics only for the physical field coupling ofpiezoelectric’s electrical and mechanical, not involving the giant magnetostrictivematerial.This paper base on the background of precision valve technology,basic knowledgeof hydropower station power quality,the types of valve and performance of giantmagnetostrictive materials and the research status of the application of the material in thevalve, Then using of Terfenol-D material on the valve plate and designed the drivingstructure,determine the material and size of each part, Paper use the Jiles-Atherton modelof hysteresis nonlinear characteristics of the material description, Combined withCOMSOL Multipysics simulation software for valve plates-machine to solve linearcoupling model and obtain the stress distribution of valve plate and the totaldisplacement, builded experimental platform for processing prototype valves and testedshow the simulation and measured values have a certain bias, but reasonable. Thesimulation method can be used to optimize the design of the valve model.Finally,thispaper design two flow control valve.
