| Project management was one of the important new managerial technologies developed after the Second World War, it originated in the United States. The systemic project management in China was introduced from abroad and was established since the reform and opening, it matured in pace with the project management practices. As the perfection of the infrastructures year by year, construction projects decreased at the same time, a lot of domestic construction enterprises began to exploit international construction markets, they face a challenge of high cost during the implementation of international construction projects due to the differences of environments on macroscopic aspects and industry.Practical solutions are found in this thesis by resolving the key cost elements of the international road construction project and analyzing about causes of the rise for cost. Firstly, I worked over most of the relevant references and got to know the history and present situation for project management and cost management. Secondly, summarizing the characteristics and contents of the cost management. Finally, using the road construction project D469in Kenya as illustration for introducing the characteristic and present situation of international road construction project management, identifying and analyzing the problems of cost management in the course of project performance, then putting forward a solution for controlling the cost.The practitioners of international road construction project will realized the importance for study of project management by the discussion of this thesis. A structure of cost management was established and a lot of operable cost controlling measures were provided, it is real and pertinent for promoting the profits of project and will benefit the internationalizing Chinese firms. |
