Automation in Thermal Power area is the most advanced and popular in Industry area of China. The usage of DCS (Distributed Control System) in Thermal Power Plant Control System has been widely accepted, and has been got full recognitionin safety, reliability, economic aspects. With the increasing shortage of resources in our country, as well as growing pressure of the energy-saving and emission-reduction,1000MW ultra supercritical thermal power unit which maximize the resource utilization rate and generate few pollutants will become the main force of China’s energy construction. The DCS project covers a large area with complex interface and high requirements of resource allocation. There are several key stages in its construction phase, such as design, manufacture, installation and commissioning stages, so it puts a higher requirement in projectmanagement.Firstly, this paper set up a DCS project workflow system, and based on related project schedule management knowledge, taking the Jiangsu JR Power Plant(2*1000MW)DCS Project as object,expatiated thetheoryof project schedule plan and control. This paper analysed the current status of DCS project schedule management research at home and abroad, discussedthe influence factors of DCS project schedule, and based on the concepts of project schedule management and the characteristics of1000MW ThermalPower Plant DCS project, given the schedule management method and technology for large DCS project. I expect that this paper will be helpful to the design shcdule plan and control of large DCS projects.
