With the development of science and technology, a variety of new products are emerging, how to quickly set up the process of new product design and development, how to save development costs and improve design quality are all problems for designers. In addition to the emotional consumption is now characterized by emotional consumer age, consumers pursuit of spiritual feelings and emotional experience becomes more intense, so the problem of how to design product to meet the emotional demand of consumers puts forward higher requirements to designers. The aim of this subject using wearable equipments as example is to study consumer emotional needs, to design product which could meet the emotional needs of consumers and to establish a model for the design and development of wearable equipments by Kansei Engineering methods. Topic is divided into two stages:First, obtain the information of emotional needs of consumers about wearable equipment by Kansei Engineering, then process these information by filtering and hierarchical clustering analysis, after that, get emotional vocabulary about wearable equipment and representative product samples, finally we will get a correlation matrix between the information of emotional needs of consumers and product samples; The second stage is through the gray relational analysis technique to find the product sample which much fits with the minds of consumers, then analyze its design elements to guide the completion of the new design. This paper selects health bracelet as an example, achieved the aim of that Kansei Engineering was applied into the design of wearable equipment successfully and met the emotional needs of consumers, and also established a design and development model for wearable equipments.
