Mechanical excavator has had a wide range of applications in the present international and domestic mining and engineering construction. Large mechanical performance and level represent a national industrial level and science and technology.Boom is the stress of the main parts of mechanical excavator working device. The performance of the quality of the boom has great influence for excavator working efficiency and use of life. for this reason, the intensity study of boom is very important to ensure that equipment normal work.In the preliminary design of mechanical process, engineer should fully consider that product designing need to meet the requirements of strength, the rigid requirements, stability requirements of structure and the economic requirements, setting mathematical model, determining the objective function and constraints. Exert-ing reliable optimization methods for optimization designAccording to the steel structure design codes and the basic load, with the high of economy boom for the principle figure out the main section geometry parameters of boom.The author uses PRO/E to create parametric model, imports the parametric model into ANSYS Workbench and conducts static analysis getting stress cloud. Exerting reliable optimization methods for optimization design, setting mathematical model, the objective function is that making the weight of boom the most light, Strength and structural stability are constraints, thickness are design variables. Getting the reasonable section geometry parameters and reducing the weight of the arm..The bulldoze reducer casing of mechanical excavator is the important component of boom. It gets complex load. The strength and rigid of reducer casing are the major factors of the influence gear transmission. Using the standards of strength and stiffness and simplifying board to a beam that can figure out the main dimension of the bulldoze reducer casing of mechanical excavator. That can get the main thickness of the reducer casing module.Using ANSYS Workbench to analyse the reducer casing module can get the stress and the deformation cloud. Those can Provide reference for the engineering practice.In summary, the execution of the work can provide a meaningful method for the design of mechanical excavator. At the same time, the work can contribute to the design of crawler crane in the future.
