In recent years, the crawler crane, with the advantage of grounding than the small, up a big weight homework height and large extent of hanging heavy homework, has had a rapid development. The trend that the crawler crane develop to large tonnage is getting clearly. The base as one of the main structure of the crane crawler, which shape dimensions are getting larger, along with the increase of the product tonnage span, but it is still affected by various factors, under the circumstance of the overall dimension cannot increase unlimit-ed. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the base structure by the finite element method.The author studies the base structure, the parametric finite element analysis, the active automation technology, the VB programming, and data base technology carefully and develop the parametric analysis of crawler crane base systems. The main research work as follows:(1) Based on the actual engineering and requirements of the design for the base structure of a certain crawler crane, this paper has built mechanical model, extracted characteristic parameters, and established the reasonable element, load and the constraint conditions for the base structure.(2) The author analyses the base structure of crawler crane with finite element method which includes static analysis, modal analysis, transient analysis, and carrying out the strength and the stiffness of the base in accordance with the results of the analysis. The total weight of the jib structure is optimization targets, to optimize the cross-section size of the structure which can available more economical and reasonable structure.(3) Due to the convenience of VB in building GUI interface, the Parametric finite element analysis system of the base of a certain crawler crane with ANSYS, which realizes rapid modeling and analyzing in definitive conditions. The system can provides practical platform which can analyze the base structure rapidly and simply to designing engineers.
