With the accelerated development of our country economy, engineeringconstruction projects with large scale like high-speed railway, wind power, nuclearpower and petrochemical is continuously increasing, that makes the shipping height,weight and shipping range of the construction material demand more and more.Truss boom crawler crane with its small ground pressure, the terrain adapt ability,driving flexibility, strong lifting capacity is more widely used.Boom is one of the most important components on the crawler crane whichinfluent lifting performance. For the increasing lifting height, amplitude and liftingweight, it is the most direct and effective way to increase the length of boom.Overlength main boom which length more then90m appears.Increasing in boomlength, which leading to the overall stiffness decreases and the boom deformationincrease at work, make boom prone to instability. In order to reduce the boomdeformation and improve the jib force status, the waist-rope device and the superliftdevice which improve the crawler crane lifting performance come into being.Do the overall design of the crawler crane based on performance requirementsand technical parameters.Determine the luffing form by contrasting two commonlyused luffing form. Optimize the design of three hinge point location at abovesection based on up boom and basic boom work condition. Select the slewing ring.Check the machine overturning stability according to crane design specifications.According to the lifting performance requirements, using traditional manualdesign calculation method and the simplify formula of overall stability,design theoverall structural of the main boom,superlift,fixed jib and tower jib based on theoverall stability, check their stiffness, stability. Using ANSYS finite elementanalysis software to establish the finite element model for work conditions ofvarious boom combinations with beam and shells mixed unit, and analyze the stressintensity and stability. According to the results of analysis, modify the unreasonablesize of the manual design, until meet the stress intensity and stability requirements.For overlength main boom on crawler crane without the superliftdevice,simplify and establish the mechanical model. Research the influence ofwaist-rope length on the boom deformation, based on the position of waist-rope hasbeen determined. Provides a practical method for the design of the waist-rope. Andcompare with ANSYS finite element analysis results, provide a reference formanual calculations of waist-rope design.
