Simultaneous Engineering,also called Process Simultaneous Engineering,is asystematic working mode for the integration and parallelism during productdevelopment and its correlated processes such as manufacture and support.Application of simultaneous engineering for manufacturing process in assemblyshop was discussed. Tolerance design and structure optimization during theautomotive research and development are the important approaches of realizingmanufacturing fineness and precision. Theoretical and practical methods forevaluating the assembly tolerances are systematically discussed, as well as theworkflow and importance of simultaneous dimensional engineering process isintroduced. Dimensional functional analysis and perceived quality assessmentshould be applied to improve the whole dimensional design quality and evaluationprocess.The concept of manufacturing process guiding design was introduced.Themodular production,platform design of production, how to realize the processsimultaneous engineering were described. Through simultaneous engineering,thenew model development cycle is shortened,the production cost is controlled betterand the quality is improved.Combining the designing and developing process of our company’s X MPVwhich will hit dealers this year, this thesis analyzes the dimension engineering ofproduct digital-analog through virtual assembly, as well as the automotive interiorparts and GD&T. At the same time, this thesis verifies the feasibility of assembly andmakes preparations for manufacture, such as the project for equipment.
