China see great improvement on the sedan manufacture and marketing,meanwhile,It becomes higher demand to improve the perceptional quality of interior & exterior fitting because of the similarity in sedan modeling and design,which indicates the different requirements from customers' personality.It is the critical impact of exterior quality for the fender assembly fit related to the Front Face,Hood and A-pillar,there are many subassembly parts,processing parameters and complex deforming variation,which is the major issue of dimension engineering and therefore highly focused by local or oversea Sedan manufacture historically.This thesis is studying on digital simulation & application on sedan fender assembly fit,mainly including the following items:1)Describing the major method,process and technical key point of sedan dimension Engineering activities.Through studying the critical dimensional matching issue on the fender area,the author collects most of the practical cases to identify the major impact factors,which measured from 5 areas of People/Machine /Material /Methods/Environment.2)Studying and applying FEM to analyze the assembly fitting and tolerance,typical Dimension-Chain Analyzing Software basically indicate most of the matching results based on the rigid object,which only theoretically shows the dimensional fitting results without the impacted force,because of many physical variant such as the gravity,related impact force,the Exterior dimension target is too difficult to achieve besides the tolerance.3)Focusing on the metal part of the Front Fender,the author simulate the dimensional displacement within the physical impacting force based on FEM software.Calculating the virtual deforming through LS-PREPOST software,the author compare the advantages & disadvantages with different solutions,and finally achieve the optimized GD&T standard for part making.4)Comparing with the physical matching data on finished sedan,It shows the effective reference from the FEM analyzing.By using of the FEM stimulation,comparing different results based on major impacted factor,which facilitate the achievement of the DTS(Dimensional Technical Standard)and provide reference for the anti-force design of the metal parts.5)It is a good trial in Dimensional Engineering to analyze the part deforming with FEM software for the Fender area,which is good approach to verify and solve the physical matching problem.
