This article first provides an overview of the current status of hybrid technology aroundthe world, and then discusses the strength and weakness of the technology along with its control strategy. Finally the hybrid vehicles of Toyota and GM are extensively studied as examples.During the development of a new SUV hybrid model in our company, the author studied the parallel-series hybrid system and designed a new kind of four-wheel driving system, in which the fore axle is driven by the engine and the rear axle is driven by the electric engine. Based on the control strategy of the battery charge and torque distribution, we designed a control strategy for the hybrid stimulus in various kinds of operating modes, in order to complete the implementation process of the control strategy in a whole vehicle. In the simulation of the vehicle performance, we compared the performance of our vehicle with standard models and evaluated the result of the simulation calculation, with which we set the dynamical and economic aim of our vehicle. Using the simulation, we found the theorythat can be used to improve the performance of the low-speed acceleration in the1.5T engineand the optimization approach to increasing the torque of the rear axle motor. As a result, thehybrid engine system that consists of1.5T and rear axle motor can be realized.Based on the study of the control strategy of the hybrid system and the performance stimulation, we built a hybrid system and generated a control strategy of a hybrid vehicle. This article provides a theoretical foundation for the application of the hybrid system in SUVs.
