The auto industry, as one of the important pillar industry of national economy,has become increasingly wide attention from all walks of life due to its energy consumption and environmental emissions. In order to achieve sustainable development of energy saving and emission reduction in our country, the new energy automobile technology is promoted application in the automotive filed. In the current policies and regulations, the vehicle assembly plants and scientific research institutions focus on new energy hybrid city bus.There are many types of city bus, including 9 meters, 9-10 meters, 10-12 meters and more than 12 meters. As a public transportation tool, the small bus is gradually eliminated in the development trend of city bus. Therefore, the vehicle model of more than 10 m is vigorously developed. In the market research of this paper, 12 meters has the highest market share and the proportion of car has a tendency to increase. So the12 m city bus is chose as the research object in this paper. Currently, the new energy hybrid technology routes mainly include series system, parallel system and series-parallel combined system. On the basis of synthetic evaluation for three kinds of technical route, parallel hybrid system is chosen as the final system in the paper.The research object of this topic is 12 meters single axis parallel hybrid city bus,it is introduced the the research background, research approach, through the analysis of the market research combined with the technical route, the design of this topic development target and development of a prototype performance are determined.After the simulation of the hybrid city bus, the selection of the key parts is determined. On the basis of the simulation result, the prototype parts which can meet the requirements of markets. Through Matlab Simulink module modeling for the combination of the spare parts plan has carried on the simulation calculation, provide the basis for scheme selection. Comprehensive analysis of simulation results and market development, the prototype plan is determined. the prototype vehicle is assembled and then conduct an experiment of this vehicle.Through the debugging experiment results show that the developed prototype performance is stable and its dynamic performance.
