Preservation And Regeneration Of Industrial Architecture Heritage In Tonghua City

During the20years of the high-speed urbanization in China, a great many industrialhistoric buildings and sites in the city are replaced and disappearing at a very rapid rate; Thepreservation and regeneration of industrial heritage is increasingly concerned by the field ofarchitecture and urban renewal.In recent years, The chinese government put forward the strategic target of therevitalization of northeast old industrial regions. It is an objective condition of urban renewalfor that a lot of the old industrial buildings and sites exist in these regions.By learning theexperience of developing the old industrial city in other countries for reference, we find out thatindustrial architecture heritage’s preservation and regeneration is an important way of revivalthese traditional industrial zone. In this environment, the problem of industrial heritage inShenyang, Changchun, Harbin and other central cities in northeast china has took moreattention. However, compared with these cities, industrial architecture heritages in many smalland medium-sized industrial cities such as tonghua has been ignored. It needs the positiveresearch to guide practical work refer to the protection and reuse.By collecting data and field investigation of industrial building heritages in Tonghua city,This article summarized the present status, composition and characteristics of this city; referingto the current value evaluation theory of industrial heritage in china and abroad, I made areasonable evaluation of the industrial building heritages’ value for Tonghua. By studying thecases of industrial heritage protection and reuse domestic and overseas combined with myexperience of industrial building heritages reform design to explore the road of industrialbuilding heritage preservation and regeneration of Tonghua city from two perspectives whitchthe urban industrial land’s transforming and the old industrial architecture reform design.
