The Design Of Remote Meter-reading System In Distribution Monitoring System

With the development of science technology and enhancement of people’s livingstandard, the scale of power consumers is getting bigger, meanwhile the workload oftraditional manual meter-reading is also becoming heavier. The main research purpose ofthe project is to design a set of complete remote meter-reading system(RMRS) to meet thecurrent demand.The article discusses the design scheme and realizing methods for a automatic RMRSbased on GPRS wireless network, so as to propose a remote meter-reading pattern, whichmeans a composite communication way combined with RS-485and GPRS, then carries oncorresponding study and system design. The article mainly consists of the followingcontents:1. Adopting the single-phase smart electric meter, which has485-communicationfunction, also data collecting and saving function.2. The gathering concentrator is used to realize the collecting and saving function ofelectric meters. The design of the concentrator includes the master control circuitand485-bus, clock, power source and other outer circuit devices. The SIM900Awireless module is set up in the concentrator to make GPRS communicationavailable.3. Proceeding the software design for the outer hardware system and concentrator ofthe electric meter.4. The system realizes the automatic data copy of electric meter by the remotemonitoring center, and possesses the characteristics of low-consumption,low-cost and easy-achieving etc.The innovation of the article focuses on the real-time recording and inquiring of the users’consuming information, based on which the electricity stealings and other problems comeup in power consumption period could be found quickly and clearly in a rather short time.
