With the social and economic development, the capacity of road network in many citiescould not meet the increasing traffic demand. The traffic congestion and the road blocking havea negative impact on transportation resources. Intelligent transportation system provides a newmethod to solve the traffic congestion.Vehicle navigation is a branch of the modern intelligenttraffic system. Based on the urban road network information and real-time road trafficinformation, the main role is to realize the real-time path planning function. Currently, most ofthe vehicle navigation systems in the market are based on the static network model. However,when there are traffic accidents or traffic jams, the traditional path planning can not meet thepractical application of the time.Combining basic attribute information, static attribute information with dynamic attributeinformation of the road network, this paper presents the concept of a generalized network model,with the use of the shortest travel time as objective function. It not only keeps the connectivityof the city road network, but also adds abundant traffic information such as sections constraint,transportation cost, crossroads constraints and the price of turning. Especially the description ofthe dynamic traffic information makes sure that it has an important value in practical application.In the path planning, static network model is most used traditionally which would mislead theusers. This paper introduces the classical algorithms respectively, such as Dijkstra algorithm,A*algorithm, and genetic algorithm, simulated annealing algorithm and colony algorithm ofintelligent algorithm. Considering the shortcomings of the basic ant colony lgorithm, this papercomes up with a “Dual Population Ant Colony Optimization” on the basis of traffic informationof the time, which solves the problem of the dynamic path planning. The algorithm can reach abalance between the ability of global optimization and the convergence speed, verified by theMicrosoft.NET simulation platform, the algorithm can provide a driving route based on timeoptimization for the driver. The transmission of the traffic flow of the time and vehiclespositioning data are essential to realize dynamic path planning. This paper presents a designingscheme of dynamic vehicle navigation terminal system on the basis of GPS/GPRS combination system. This system used S3C2410based on ARM920T as the core microprocessor, andregarded integrated chip SIM908as the module of GPS/GPRS, periphery circuits were usedhere in order to constitute a complete system. With the help of TCP/IP communication means,this system has the function of real-time information interaction with data monitoring server.Indicated from the test results, this system can meet the basic functional requirementsof dynamic navigation terminal and provides an important prerequisite for realizing the urbantraffic vehicle global optimization and dynamic navigation.
