Water is not only the source of life, but also the basis of development. In recent years, more and more common people come to realize the reserch and exploration of water resource utilization, development and protection. This subject has got the attentions not only from the central and local governments, but also from many medias. It has become a critical factor of China’s economic and social sustainable development.According to the census data of nationwide water resources survey conducted in2013, there are98002existing water reservoirs in China. It is the largest amount all over the world, including756large,3938medium-sized and93308small reservoirs. But most of these reservoirs were built in1958~1976, the seepage path problem are very outstanding. Around48000reservoirs are dangerous with big potential hazards to the country’s flood control safety, urban water supply and agricultural irrigation. Therefore, from the period of10th to12th five-year plan, especially from2008to2012, China government has invested more than RMB70billion for anti-seepage reinforcement and maintenance of the nation’s7356large and medium-sized dangerous reservoirs, including key dilapidated small type reservoirs in the east of China. So far, most of these dangerous reservoirs have been completed the anti-seepage reinforcement work and passed through the test of the operating period of high water level. It plays a significant social and economic benefits. The dam anti-seepage reinforcement technique is widely used and plays a key role in eliminating the reservoir safety problems, improving the ability of flood control, increasing comprehensive benefits, strengthening artificial regulation and safeguard ability of water resources.In this abstract, we take the anti-seepage reinforcement project at Wohu Shan Water Reservior in Jinan as an example. Through the comprehensive summary, analysis and reaserch of whole process from survey, design, construction control to quality inspection for the adopted dam reinforcement technology, as well as the analysis of implementation effect achieved, it not only validates the feasiblity and effectiveness, but also reflects the significant role and importance of anti-seepage reinforcement technique applied in the process of reservoirs’ reinforcement. This abstract is divided into following sections:1、General introduction includes the importance and necessity of anti-seepage reinforcement to the reservoirs; safety requirements and design criteria to the earth-rock dam; purpose, significance and contents of the research; method classification, detailed methods and selection principle of the anti-seepage reinforcement to the dams etc.2、Overview of anti-seepage reinforcement project at Wohu Shan Water Reservior includes general introduction and main technical characteristics.3、Design of the dam anti-seepage reinforcement consists of design basis, standards, specifications and safety evaluation etc.4、Construction of the dam anti-seepage reinforcement consists of construction basis, construction plan, resource allocation, construction scheme and quality etc.5、Quality test and analysis of the dam anti-seepage reinforcement consists of the content, basis, data statistical analysis and conclusion.6、Conclusions for design optimization, process innovation and multiplicity of inspection methods; prospects of developmental potential for this technology.
