In this paper, specific research topic for excavator’s boom plate "I" groove butt technology, compared with the original unilateral one-sided welding of "V" groove forming docking process, the dosage of welding wire, working hours and working procedure and other aspects of a more significant reduction, which greatly reduced the excavator boom plate welding processing cost. Facing the fierce competition in the construction machinery market environment, excavator manufacturers to pay more and more attention to cost control,"I" groove butt further development and application of the technology, is bound to be of engineering machinery equipment welding structure design, the manufacture cost of far-reaching influence.From the spray of horizontal swing and groove correction of these two new key technology start docking process, this paper emphatically analyzes the analysis of the two new technologies in the movable boom plate "I" groove docking technology necessity and technical advantages, is analyzed in detail through the origin and tools by welding robot spray adjustment to ensure the accuracy of horizontal swing, thus ensuring weld quality principles and methods. On the "I" shaped groove and unilateral "V" shaped butt processes separately carried out on the deposited metal tensile and impact test, experimental data proved that the movable boom plate "I" groove docking technology can meet the metal mechanical properties of welded structure.
