This thesis is one of the sub-projects in the Tibet Bon architecture research which funded by National Natural Science Foundation and done by my tutor Professor Yongping Wang.(No.:51078181)Bon religion is an ancient and initial culture in Tibetan plateau; it has a strong regional characteristics due to the inseparable sourcing relationship with Tibetan plateau. Also, it is an integral and important part of the culture in Tibet. According to the historical records, the birthplace of Bon religion was Katao, Ali area today. Its ancestor was bora in Wei Molongren, Katao. Bon religion believes in the theory of "Animism". It came from people’s mysterious feeling for the natrual change of universe, mountains, sun, moon, star, etc and the fear of disaster, plague, disease, wind, rain, lighting and other natural phenomena, after a long period the people’s awing and respecting feeling for the natural had evolved into a religion. Therefore, Bon religion and culture is the crystallization of the authentic and traditional culture in Tibet, the origin of such religion can be tracked to the primitive culture period in ancient TibetBy referring to the basic theory of related disciplines like City Planning, Sociology, Archeology, Feng Shui and Tourism, basing on the field trip in Tibet and large evidences on books, data, drawing and so on, we studied the Bon religion temple in Dingqing County in eastern Tibet in view of architectural in this thesis.There are totally seven chapters in this thesis:First chapter is the introduction. It is the overall vision which includes the background, intention and significance of the research, the theory and method used and the frame of this thesis; Second chapter is main in introduction of the history of the development of Bon religion in Tibet, as well as the legend of its ancestor; In third chapter, it expatiates on the distribution of the Bon religion tempers in Tibet and the retained religious characters of Bon religion itself. The distribution and general situation of the Bon religion tempers in Dingqing County, eastern Tibet is mainly introduced in chapter Four; In both fifth and sixth chapters, we take the famous Zizhu Temper in Dingqing County for example to study the distribution and architectural features of Bon religion tempers; In the last chapters, we discuss the cultures of Tibet that affected by Bon religion..
