Liquefied natural gas as a kind of high efficient, clean energy alternatives to traditional energy, as continued growth in energy demand and environmental protection consciousness strengthens gradually in modern society, gets more and more attention by the international community. Since the reform and opening up, China’s economy have embraced a rapid growth. GDP continued to increase. But at the same time, energy demand is also growing rapidly. The traditional energy has been decreasing and causing great harm of environment, so the demands of liquefied natural gas in China has grown rapidly.Although our country vast territory and abundant resources, but in the face of liquefied natural gas’s giant demands, China still needs to import lots of liquefied natural gas. While the main import of China’s liquefied natural gas is from sea transport, so the security risk evaluation to liquefied natural gas ship is imperative.Firstly, domestic and international ship safety risk assessment criteria and methods were studied deeply and systematically. Secondly, for evaluating Tianjin Port LNG ship safety scientifically and reasonably, the hazardous properties of liquefied natural gas was analyzed in detail in this paper. Meanwhile, the current situation in Tianjin Port LNG Terminal was learned through access to large amounts of data and field trips. Based on the above work, the paper used fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to conduct a risk assessment to the Tianjin Port LNG and gave an assessment results and risk prevention measures and improved emergency treatment measures.
