With the rapid development of society and economy, investment of highway construction scale growing, increasing highway tunnel construction, tunnel safety issues have become increasingly prominent. In order to create a safe, convenient, comfortable, economical, and efficient transportation environment, how to solve the problem of tunnel safety has increasingly become the focus of highway construction and operations management unit concerned.Compared with the general highway road, with linear good, heavy traffic, traffic speed, vision and other characteristics; highway tunnel throat area highway network in traffic volume if you do not use advanced security management measures, bad weather conditions, prone to accidents and cause a fire. Therefore, the study of highway tunnel fire accidents and their prevention and control measures, to reduce the incidence of fires, and enhance capacity of the tunnel to ensure the safe operation of the tunnel has important significance. In this paper, research and information search through the development and road tunnel safety management at home and abroad were reviewed, to generate traffic highway tunnel fires, characteristics, type, Formation Mechanism were analyzed; stand management point of view, the development plan proposed tunnel fire principle, control method, and control processes. Through the analysis of the fire behavior of the tunnel, the tunnel when the fire broke clear, temperature, smoke diffusion law, thereby causing damage to the overall structure of the tunnel. From the perspective of the fire relief proposed tunnel ventilation, lighting, fire protection, as well as evacuation and rescue plans, in the entire tunnel fires play an important role.
