Rolling bearings,which have many excellent characteristics such as less powerconsumption, low friction movement,long lifespan and convenient maintenance, are widelyused in industrial production. With the development of industrial technology, theperformance of rolling bearings has been improved. As the key part of the bearing, the cageplays a very important role in the performance of the bearing. In particular,the design andanalysis of cages made by new materials are growing to be the hot topics.This thesis subject is supported by a cooperation project with a domestic bearingtechnology development company. The two kinds of cage are both different in structure andmaterial in7014angular contact ball bearing. They are Bakelite cage and PEEK cage,respectively. In order to analysis and design a type of cage suitable for the engineeringpractice, the theory of computational fluid dynamics, heat transfer, structural dynamics arecombined to analyze bearing system which applying two kinds of cages. The main workpresented in this paper can be stated as follow:(1) The dynamic characteristics of cage was studied based on the theory.3-D models ofBakelite cage and PEEK cage are created. Research modal analysis on both modelsand compare the dynamic characteristics.(2) Numerical simulation of Angular contact ball bearing with two kinds of cages werestudied, and equations of mathematical physics were established, applyingRNG k turbulence model to calculate the turbulence parameters in the fluid within the bearing, applying the algorithm SIMPLE method to solve the discreteequations.(3) Because of the fact that bearings are high precision parts,3-D models are created byCATIA V5R17and meshed by ANSYS ICEMto generate unstructured grid. TheSIMPLE algorithm is applied in numerical simulation in ANSYS FluentandRNG k turbulence two equation models with scalar transport model is used topredict the fluid system.(4) Analyze the airflow field and temperature field according to the result of numericalsimulation, discuss the air pressure, velocity and temperature. Analyze and comparethe result and research the characteristics,advantages and disadvantages.The purpose of this study is to research the analyze and design the new structure ofcage made of PEEK in the bearing structure of high speed. This study has theoreticalsignificance and engineering application value. The new cage with good performance hasstronger function in protection, and can extend the life of the bearing. It provides valuablereference for practical engineering.
