Bucket elevator is used for vertical lifting goods on continuous conveyor. It is also used for inclined special delivery in particular conditions. It automatically load at the bottom.Then the hoppers automaticly unload after bypassing the top of sprocket wheel. At present,it has been widely used in the fields such as cement industry, metallurgy industry and food storage industry and so on.Based on the structural design of NE150bucket elevator in the paper, it proposed modern design methods for the design of bucket elevators and studied the relevant theoretical and technical issues.In this paper, the operating conditions of bucket elevators are analyzed by the kinetic theory.At first,it establishes the multi‐dimensional dynamic equations of bucket elevator system and obtains the method which calculated the tension of chains. Moreover the movement of the bucket elevator centrifugal unloading way is analyzed, which finds out the main parameters to impact centrifugal discharge performance and contributes to the design of the head housing of bucket elevators.The important parts of bucket elevator are improved the structure to solve the problems of bucket elevator in actual operation, which makes it more to meet the needs of modern production.The parametric design is used for bucket elevator. Its advantage is that it can greatly improve the efficiency and quality of the machine.It may also provide users with an intuitive accurate feedback of designed object by the drive of the size, which can be modified at any time.In the advanced CAD software, all the parameters involved in the design process can be used as variables, between which constraints and relationshadds can be established.The relationshadd between these variables can step over different CAD software modules in order to achieve full correlation of the design data.Achieving the automation of mechanical design is based on parameterized.Due to the fact that the height of bucket elevator is high, there is a lot of links and the analysis of dynamics simulation has some difficulties. Generally simulation analysis usually are based on a full scale model or a non‐modeling.In this paper, bucket elevator has been completely modeled for simulation analysis, which solve the difficult problem when there are a lot of links by the use of macros. On the basis of simulation, the amount of fluctuation of the chain conveyor system, the angular velocity of the driven wheels, meshing impact and maximum tension of the chain are studied.Based on dynamics simulation,the key parts of the bucket elevator under certain loads are analyzed by finite element analysis,which can quickly andaccurately check the strength and rigidity of the device, and can intuitively reflectthe stress concentration position, also can easily query the stress and deformation valueanywhere.
