With the development of intelligent control technology, embedded processors which promote the degree of automation and complexity of industrial production equipment are widely used in the field of automation. Traditional manual fault detection cannot meet the actual demand, so automatic test of equipment failure has attracted more and more attention. As a vertical transportation equipment, bucket elevator gets broadly applied in industrial fields of cement, stone and other raw materials. The material buckets are easy to loose and even drop out, those malfunctions probably associate with long-term overuse and aging as well as heavy loading. Equipment failure would generate economic losses of the enterprise and also bring workers security problems. Based on the situation, S3C2440 bucket elevator safety monitoring system is designed for online detection of screw loosening.This thesis mainly contains two parts, hardware design and software design. The hardware design includes main microcontroller chip selection, the function description of core circuit board, the schematic and PCB design for each function modules of the expansion circuits. The main control chip selects S3C2440 based on ARM920T, hardware module includes power and reset module, serial communication module, USB interface module, DM9000 interface module, SD card module and screw detecting module. The software design is divided into three parts, building of embedded development environment, developing and transplanting of Linux kernel driver and designing of the application program. Environment building refers to transplantation of Bootloader, Linux kernel and root file system. The linux drivers mainly includes the development and transplantation of UVC driver, DM9000 driver and the screw detecting driver. The application consists of client application program and PC application. The client application program is based on linux c. Its main function is to open the camera to take photos of the screws on conveyer belt and send the picture to the server when the MCU receiving a trigger signal of the detected screw. The server application function is to process the uploaded picture using OpenCV. The picture process includes barcode recongnition which can locate the screw position on conveyor belt and the screw loosening recognition. Finally the detecting results can be displayed on MFC interface.After the completion of the system design, the hardware circuit and the software system was tested. The test results showed that the system can realize fast data acquisition and can receive and send data accurately in real time. In laboratory testing environment, the system can basically meet the design requirements.
