| With the fast growing of the society and economic in our country, information technology has become the new development aspect of the country. In the background of "sense of China", the development of Internet of Things (IOT) has come to a high priority. One important method to raise information level of transportation is to use IOT technology in road area. The research of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) has become the basis of IOT in road.This paper is mainly focus on the architecture of road IOT. This paper begins with the architecture of IOT, then analyzes the three layers of IOT. Meanwhile, we study the conception, architecture ITS. The basic design principle and architecture of road IOT is proposed in this paper by comparing ITS with IOT. According to the design principles which are entirety, tolerance, expandability and stability, the four layer architecture of road IOT is proposed. The architecture of road IOT contains sensor layer, network layer, process and control layer, publish layer. This paper introduces the four layer design, then analyses each level through basic architecture, technical architecture and service architecture. The imagination that road IOT sustains multiple applications and ITS becomes the important application of road IOT is proposed.This paper is focus on the research and analyses of massive sensors used in the sensor layer of road IOT. We study their technical criteria and classify them into three categories according to their function, which are infrastructure monitor sensor, traffic operation status monitor sensor, and environment monitor sensor. To each category study the sensors technical criteria. This work provides suggestions to the road IOT standardization. |
