Compared with the rapid development of manufacturing automation, thedevelopment of automatic assembly is relatively backward. Assembly of products suchas car self-lubricating hinge have become the weak link of production, because theseparts are small, with complex shape and high precision. The traditional manualassembly way has seriously affected the degree of automation and the efficiency ofproduction. Combined with the XuanCheng2012science and technology planningproject “car self-lubricating hinge industrialization development” and project entrustedby enterprise, mechanical structure, motion’s control and automatic detection arediscussed for self-lubricating hinge assembly system in this thesis. The main works areas follows:Firstly, the thesis analyses the status of automatic assembly at home and abroad.Combined with the requirements and characteristics of self-lubricating hinge and basedon manual assembly technique, the technique of automatic assembly is designed. So aflexible and multi-station assembly plan is presented.Secondly, according to automatic assembly technique of the self-lubricating hinge,the thesis designed the overall structure and key parts of automatic assemblyequipment. The selection and design of some important components in equipment iscompleted next, including cylinder, linear guide rail and riveting machine.Then, the thesis researches the structure and control scheme of pneumatic systemand control system for the automatic assembly equipment in detail by analysing thefundamental control task of automatic assembly equipment. According to the chart ofcontrol flow, the appropriate PLC is selected, the input and output of PLC are designed,and the control system and PLC program are developed.Finally, according to the detecting requirement of self-lubricating hinge, the thesisresearched the method to detect the rotating degree and the opening and closing torque,the corresponding detection system is developed, and the design of humanizedinterface and the development of related programs are completed.Automatic assembly system of self-lubricating hinge researched in this thesis hasa good flexibility in assembly process; the feasibility of system has been verified bysimulation. The thesis has laid the foundation for the development of prototype. It alsohas a good reference for development of the similar automation assembly system.
