Nowadays, the developing trend of vehicle dashboard is that digital visual expression isbeing merged with traditional visual expression. Regarding to vehicle dashboard industry,traditional pointer dashboard still plays the most important role due to its long history andmature technology. However, considering of safety, efficiency and agreeableness, there is stilldeveloping space for the traditional dashboard. Besides, digital technology is also used forvehicle dashboard. Based on the background of new technical times, there is urgent need fordesign of muti-functionality dashboard.The thesis proposed several ideas for design of vehicle dashboard. Dashboard’s visualdisplay mode and design elements were also proposed based on visual physiology experimentand theoretical research, which makes visual communication more precision and efficiency.Besides, in order to merge the design of dashboard with emerging technology, further researchwas done to adapt the development of dashboard under the background of digital age.Based on the analysis of visual information transfer theory, this thesis shows key points andcharacter of visual information transfer. Combined with dashboard display functionality,reading mode, safety display standards and Ergo system, dashboard design rules wereanalyzed and built, which provides the basis for vehicle dashboard design. Finally, theconcept design of vehicle dashboard was proposed and validated by analyzing the practicecases. The design elements of dashboard’s visual display were also generalized at the end ofthe thesis. |
