From The Family Courtyard To The Neighborhood Courtyard

The new rural construction of high-speed development in China is in a crucial period.The new rural community improves the quality of life for rural residents and contributesto the harmonious development of rural society, but there are still many problems at thesame time. Especially the new rural living space, the traditional residential culture lossshould be paid more attention to. The construction of modernization city has importantinfluence on the new rural community, but the residents of the new rural community havedifferent requirements for living space requirements indeed. The main reason to thephenomenon is that in the new rural community family courtyard living pattern whichadapted to rural residents has been greatly weakened. This weakening, produced intensecontradictions between residential space and residents living demand. New ruralcommunity living space should be based on the residents themselves, pay more attentionto the construction of new rural living environment, social relations and sustainabledevelopment needs, inheriting the traditional context, to solve the inherent contradictionbetween demand and space. Therefore, this paper aims to study the evolution of thecourtyard space in the new rural community, combining agricultural science,anthropology, sociology and other disciplines is closely related with the new demand ofrural residents. The study bases on space pattern theory as the basic research system. Itconstructs the study framework which considers the traditional courtyard living patternand value, the new rural community construction status and problems and the traditionalcourtyard’s value and evolution in the new rural community as the progressive axis, andfinally got the neighborhood courtyard space pattern. The space pattern takes the new rural multilayer residential space as the foundation, recombines the courtyard spaceproduction and life mode, the neighborhood structure, space scale and order into theneighborhood space in residential district, forms the "new courtyard pattern of differentfamilies”, and constructs the new rural residents neighborhood courtyard space patternwhich meets new and natural living environment of rural residents’ needs at the same time.After that, the paper elaborates this pattern’s sustainable and cultural value of naturalharmony and interdependent social harmony in the new rural development, compares theneighborhood courtyard space pattern to traditional patterns and urban courtyard housingpatterns. Finally, the new rural community living space development value andsignificance of traditional culture are summarized, and then the paper puts forward somesuggestions on the related research of new rural residential community.
