In recent years, many high-speed railway lines have achieved accomplishment, whichgreatly reduce the time consumption that a between-cities trip should take, and which grandpassengers a more convenient life. As a superior option of convenience and comfort, theconsideration on the level of comfort of the design of chairs used in the high speed-railwayhas been highlighted.In a long period trip, well-designed chairs have a strong influence onemotional condition of each passenger, and could down-size the level of fatigue of eachtrip-doer. Contemporarily, many problems existed in the design process of railway-usedchairs, which could lead to the passengers’ abnormal sitting posture, more seriously, it coulddisorder the routine function of muscles and spine of each passenger neither.The domestic current about the design of railway-used chairs is to digest the similarforeign projects. But the harsh problem is that, the final products could not fit the physicalcharacteristics of average Chinese folks. The neck-related and wrist-related revisionary designwhich picked up in this research was most emergent works of all. For the purpose of optimizethe comfort of railway-used chairs, on one hand, the work to investigate features of behaviorsof passengers who always take trips by high-speed railway has to be done. On the other hand,based on the database stem from the investigation above, an object revisionary design plancould eliminate the pain and fatigue that was bothering passengers around the trip throughadjustable pillows or wrist-crunch.After the optimization, the high-speed railway seat can be more naturally fit human bodyfeature, and can meet the needs of different characters, which was also suitable for differentgroup of different height, and passengers can adjust the seat according to their own needs. Theadvantages of this design is the relatively simple structure, durableness, easy operation and toconvenience in maintenance.
