Steel lattice column tower crane foundation has a unique advantage as a new type of tower crane foundation, it is widely used in large deep pit. But the study on the construction process and the calculation on mechanics is less. The existing calculation methods are not unified and lacking of convincing enough. In this paper, the author use Kun Shan Jiu Fang city garden A6 square blocks of commercial space projects as the research background, discussed the engineering applications of the steel lattice column tower crane foundation, using theoretical and numerical simulation methods to analysis its mechanical properties.The author used the theoretical formulas and ANSYS to calculate the maximum stress and displacement when the steel lattice column under the conditions of the axial force and bending loads. The calculation results is similar between the two methods, so the method that the paper first used ANSYS modeling the steel lattice column is correct.In engineering construction, experts believe that it can not be used when the earthwork of the foundation pit did not excavate and the steel support of the steel lattice column did not prepared, if so the construction period will be delayed. In order to solve this problem, this paper used ANSYS create “steel lattice columns + caps” model and “steel lattice columns + steel support + caps” model, after calculate the two kinds model under the actual loads, the results showed that:(1) In the case of no combined with steel support, the maximum stress calculated by the theoretical formulas and ANSYS is less than the allowable stress, so it is safer to use the crane that did not add steel support cases;(2) The theoretical value is larger compared with the ANSYS calculate results, so it is more conservative and safer to use of the theoretical calculations;(3) The maximum stress(70.78MPa) of adding steel support cases is smaller than maximum stress(112MPa) those without added steel support in this paper, can be reduced by 36.8%.
