With the ever-changing modern architectural design and architectural modeling more complex, vertical shape tends changing, many unconventional shaped buildings are emerging. Steel structure has become more sophisticated, widely used in such complex building structures as its advantages in design and construction. Relative to conventional structural design, sophisticated steel structure design need to consider more factors, such as the non-linear analysis. Since the real bearing properties and structural characteristics is difficult to predict based on past experience, and studies associated analysis and design methods rarely, no standardized criteria may be applied.It makes structural engineers face more challenges,but also put forward higher demands. To ensure safe and economic, establishing a reasonable, reliable and accurate theoretical model calculation and analysis to guide such a sophisticated steel structure has a very important practical significance.Construction scheme of structure is chosen based on voyage steel node engineering. In order to research the mechanical behavior of integrally stable capability and Critical node into the section of steel tower,it utilizes ANSYS finite element software to establish a three-dimensional solid model of lattice column-variable cross-section column.It analyses the distribution of internal stress, deformation characteristics the ultimate strength and the weak parts of member through nonlinear numerical calculatiaon. According to the above study, the safety of the steel structure and mechanical behavior under load is made an evaluation, and obtained critical component of member nodes and mechanical properties of greater impact on the value of certain parameters.The study result shows that the steel tower of Suzhou voyage and the key connection node design is safe and effective. The achievements of this paper could provide a theoretical basis for the design of Suzhou voyage structure,and also could provide reference and guidance for the design of similary complex steel structures.
