Nowadays, telescopic mechanism has been widely used in agriculture, industry and defense weapons. However, a large pneumatic drive telescopic mechanism, due to its own limitations, does not have a wide range of use. Since pneumatic technology has the advantages of energy-saving, pollution-free, high efficiency, long life, good reliability, it has been rapid development. Today in the pursuit of harmonious development between man and nature, it undoubtedly has a very important engineering and practical significance to research, develop and promote pneumatic technology. This article discusses the telescoping rod system based on pneumatic technology which has the features of efficiency, clean, non-polluting and conforms with the sustainable development.The main work of this paper includes the following parts:1. The design of telescopic rod system. This paper gives a detailed introduction on the compositions, operating principle and function of telescopic tube, recycling systems, control systems, cylinder and pump.2. The research of telescopic rod driving principle. First, this paper details the basic features of gas capacity deflated process: gas flow characteristics, the reference state parameters, characteristics of the gas flow through the nozzle, etc. This paper based on the energy equation establishes the gas mass flow characteristic equation and the physical model of telescopic rod system, derives the cylinder discharge equation and telescopic rod inflation equation. And then simulation is by the way of Matlab. Secondly, The inner pressure field of the telescopic rod system is determined and analyzed numerically by virtue of Fluent. The theoretical value, numerical simulation and actual values are compared. The results show that the actual values is in between the theoretical value and numerical simulation, and there exits small gap among all three.3. The numerical simulation and structural optimization of telescopic rod system based on road irregularity excitation. First, the random vibration analysis of telescoping rodsystem. The telescopic rod structure model is established by ANSYS Workbench software. And the effect of different working conditions on the performance of telescopic rod system is drawed by Random Vibration Analysis. Second, the numerical simulation and contrast of the telescopic rod optimization structure. The quality of the telescopic rod is selected to be optimal objectives, so with the length of the back stop collar of first telescopic tube as the design variables, the size of the front ring 2 and back stop collar of the second to thirteenth telescopic tubes are established mathematical relationships with the design variables. ANSYS Workbench software is used to optimize the design and simulation, and the Random Vibration Analysis results of before and after optimization is compared.
