| In modern warfare, a cooperative engagement of services and multi-arms has the characteristics of emergency, celerity, mobility, great depth, all-dimension and three-dimensions. Whoever ends in a victory in a battle relies closely on rapid and correct dispatch of forces, fire support and air support. In order to achieve highly efficient command and control in battle, a new positioning and digital communication system is urgently required to provide commander with real-time precise position of forces as well as to firmly guarantee data distribution, battlefield positioning and identification. This can help know much about the forces’ position, assemble and use efficiently the forces to strike enemies at any time and places while surviving ourselves and end in a victory.A tactical communication network system is specially designed to meet the above-mentioned requirements. It is a new integrated system of automatic tactical communication, navigation, positioning and identification and is mainly used for ground and ground-to-air cooperative engagement of division, brigade and below. The system improves effectively commander’s ability to command and control subordinates and forces’ cooperative engagement capability by integrating closely command and control units, combat units, sensor units and weapon platform units.Voice processing unit is one of the important contents in research and development of tactical communication network system. It is used to implement voice transmission between network control console and users and voice transmission among users in complex terrain and electromagnetic environment. The advanced AMBE algorithm-based special speech compression coding/decoding chip AMBE-1000 is adopted in the design. It has good speech quality and high compression ratio. The digital voice signal code rate can be compressed to 2.4Kbps, and the code rate can be selected through the modification of control program.Based on its operating principle, the functions and technical features of the voice processing unit of the TCNS are paid much attention to. A design approach to the hardware and software control programs is presented and an implementation of its hardware circuits and software control is analyzed. For hardware part, the paper analyses organization structure and operational principle of voice processing unit as well as describes operational principle and mode of used main chip in detail. Based on this, we will make the modular circuit design, including voice coding/decoding part, forward path part and backward path part, the part interfacing with main control information processing unit as well as other hardware circuit parts. For software part, the paper introduces the programming design for initialization program, data playing program and data acquisition program of voice processing unit, and the most important part is the design of data playing program and data acquisition program.In the end, we draw a conclusion from what have been done and present the main characteristics of the design. We give some improved solutions to the problems and disadvantages faced in the testing environment. The result proves the solutions are correct. The future development trend is provided. |
