Abstract/Summary:
The speech recording is a very important section in the voyage data recorder (VDR).This paper introduces the design and realization of a newly speech encoding/decoding system. The system applys the advanced specific speech chip which bases on AMBE-1000 algorithm. It can achieve high compression rate at 2.4kbps from 64kbps and reduce the space of saving data. .The general architecture, the design of corresponding software and hardware are described in detail. The software design includes VC++6.0 program for the PC and assemble language program for the single-chip.The hardware design includes a clock circuit unit, a speech data collection circuit unit,a speech encoding/decoding circuit unit.a data processing circuit unit and so on.In the first chapter we have introduced the importance and actuality of the VDR and its speech processing unit architecture. The second chapter introduces several speech encoding/decoding technics and the AMBE algorithm. The third chapter gives a detailed explanation about the design of hardware. The single-chip (AT89C51) program design and the detailed code of assemble language is described in the forth chapter. Chapter five introduces the PC program design, some program code and the system performance.
