Nesting is an important part in the process of container manufacturing. The nesting results directly affect the utilization rate of raw materials which used for container, more will affect the manufacturing costs, and the benefit of the enterprise. The traditional nesting depend on the artificial experience and manual calculation, which is low efficiency and the accuracy is not high. It is a problem need to solve urgently, which in manufacturing enterprise especially container manufacturing enterprises whose material cost accounts for more than 80% of the total cost of the product. As the information-based business systems in design, process, manufacturing have been widely applied in enterprise, provide a rich data source for changing the traditional nesting mode. How to adopt the method of informatization to transform traditional nesting links become the focus of the container enterprise.On the basis of the container nesting technology status, took a container manufacturing enterprises nesting actual business scene, in nesting process-centric, this paper has achieved a computer-aided nesting calculations, excess stock management, and integrated with the existing enterprise CAPP system. Based on Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and c#, this paper developed a suitable nesting calculation and excess stock management integration system which have been put into application in a container manufacturing enterprise. Also the system has achieved container nesting calculation automation, more effective excess stock management and real-time data and information sharing. Not only improved the utilization of raw materials in the nesting session, eliminated the non-management state of excess stock, but also saved manufacturing cost, gave full play to the role of the existing enterprise information systems. Beside, solved the "islands of information" problem, made data sharing and management more efficient and effective.
