As the spin tube gun has high firing rate, its recoil characters is complex. How to reduce the recoil force and enhance the stability of shooting has become an important research to improve the performance of the spin tube gun. This paper summarized several typical buffer devices structure, then compared and analyzed their advantages and disadvantages. We designed an efficient buffer device of the spin tube gun, it used ring spring as the main elastic element, and used metal rubber as the main damping materials. The device has strong ability of damping buffer, it can reduce the recoil force and improve the firing accuracy greatly. According to the classical interior ballistic theory, we used the software MATLAB to write interior ballistic program, then got some 23 mm spin tube gun’s graphs such as p—1、p—t、V—1、v—t in the period of interior ballistic and the bore resultant force—time curves. The spin tube gun s recoil movement theory model was set up, and the recoil movement equation were derived. According to the established equations we wrote recoil simulation program to simulate the recoil process on the established equations, and got the graph of bore resultant force—time under different firing rate. By simulating and analyzing the main designed parameters on the recoil characteristic of buffer devices, we got the recoil characteristic curve and the corresponding data when o one of those factors was changed such as the spring stiffness、preloading force and metal rubber shape factor. Made buffer device’s parameters orthogonal design optimization to choose the optimal parameter combination. The device can meet the design requirements, and remarkably reduce the recoil force of the spin tube gun on the basis of controlling recoil displacement. It is of great significance to reduce the recoil force of the spin tube gun and improve its firing accuracy and stability.
