With fast process of the urbanization in our country, the urban landscape pattern has been changing a lot. At the same time, the expanding urban landscape brings some problems, such as environmental pollution, ecological damage and so on, becoming more obvious. So that, the study about urban form and sustainable development has become the focus in urban geography and urban planning.Based on the theory of landscape ecology, this paper studied the urban landscape pattern characteristics and dynamic change of Changchun, to provide reference and decision-making basis of the urban space planning and transformation. The key parts for this article are the third and the fourth chapter. The third one introduced the basic situation of the study area. Then through data processing, analyze the present situation of the landscape pattern of Changchun from the landscape space composition, spatial relationship and spatial distance. And the forth chapter analyzed the dynamic change of the landscape pattern in recent 15 years by calculating the patch type index and the landscape level index of the three time. The results showed that, the city land of Changchun changed from agglomeration to disperse and its area expanded so much, then the landscape diversity and function improved increasingly; Secondly, each kind of land increased, in which the public land changing most, and the degree of polymerization of industrial land improved continuously, area size appeared; until 2010, the spatial distribution pattern of Changchun had been formed that, residential land continuous layout, industrial land peripheral agglomeration, public land uniform distribution, and green space area scarcity.
