In recent years,with the development of science and technology,sustained development of people’s living standards,caused aesthetic fatigue to the same building gradually,therefore a variety of new style and irregular high-rise buildings emerge as the times require.Especially,with the promotion and popularization of steel,people used the excellent properties of steel that steel is strength,uniform material properties and good ductility to build irregular high-rise steel structure.As everyone knows,the earthquake caused serious damage to the building,especially,the strong earthquake caused hundreds of millions of dollars losses,casualties will not go into details. So it is very necessary to research the seismic response and energy dissipation effect of irregular high-rise steel structure.First,this paper introduces the failure mechanism of the seismic, the advantages and development of the steel,the research status of irregular anti-seismic and three common anti-seismic theories. Then by using the large-scale finite element analysis software SAP2000 for modal analysis of a high-rise steel structural response spectrum analysis,linear and nonlinear time history analysis and energy dissipation analysis.Finally,we got the floor displacement and the angles of drift, and use the floor displacement, the angles of drift and the position of plastic hinges to analysis the weak link of structure.The main contents are as follows:(1)This paper used SAP2000 to establish the finite element model not with(The first model) and with lateral bracing(The second model).We got the first 12 ranks of vibration period and mass participation coefficient of structure by the modal analysis,then it provided a basis for the study of the characteristics.(2) We executed the response spectrum analysis and elastic time-history analysis to the first structure model and second model under the frequent earthquake.(3) This paper executed the nonlinear time-history analysis to the second model,then we got the seismic response of structure.By analyzing the plastic hinge we discovered the weak points of structure.(4) We researched the energy dissipation effect of structure by setting the viscoelastic dampers on the second model.
