With the gradual and orderly opening of low altitude region of our country and the increase of the number of the private aircraft, the general aviation industry usher in a new opportunities for development. The repair of piston aircraft engine becomes an important work content in general aviation repair enterprises. The increase of the performance test task of the general aviation engine is an inevitable trend of the development of the aviation repair enterprises.This paper takes all LYCOMING horizontal opposed series engine as the object and designs a set of evaluation test system suitable for multi-type piston general aviation engine and the use of general aviation repair enterprise, which can meet the needs of operating parameters testing and performance assessment, and then the test method and standard for related experimental is established. The whole design of the system includes the determination of the scheme and the parameters matching of the test room layout, the installation of the test bench, the fuel supply system, oil cooling system and the control system, which is based on the satisfying performance test requirements and in order to reduce the production cost operate conveniently and short test time. Control system will transmit the data of the sensor installed in different parts of the engine to the PC through the CAN bus. The data acquisition module is selected through a real-time sensor installed in different parts of the engine data will be transmitted through the CAN bus to the PC. The RDAC XF MAP module is selected as the data acquisition module and the XTREME EMS engine monitoring module is selected as display module, which are used to obtain and display the data. The commissioning process specification is established. The whole design scheme is verified through a large number of commissioning tests. The system parameters in the test process are further tested to get more system parameters and more reasonable and effective design scheme.
