With the development of our country’s economy, the desire of people pursuit thehigh quality of life, the car has become a symbol of family’s living standary andquality. The engine is the source and heart of the automoblie’s power. The engine’sperformance can influence the power of a car directly. And then influence otherperformance of a car. Therefore, improve the engine’s performance will have animpact on vehicle performance fundamentally. Piston is an important frictioncomponent in engine. Its performance can influence the output of a car directly. Andthe wear of piston skirt is one of the important reasons of piston wears. Therefore,how to reduce the friction loss of piston skirt so as to improve the output of the enginehas important significance.Now there are two aspects on how to reduce the friction loss of piston skirt, oneaspect is to change the piston skirt’s materials,the other is to change the structure.Changing the piston material is mainly to improve the traditional aluminum alloypiston into a new composite piston.The second method is to add a layer of newmaterial on the piston skirt. Its main purpose is to make the piston skirt more wearresistant. Improvement of piston skirt structure is mainly carried out on the surfacestructure optimization and the whole structure improvement. But the new materialcost is too high and the technology is also not mature. Some inherent shortcomingshave not been resolved. The traditional method to change the structure of piston skirtis limited. While the use of bionic non smooth theory to reduce the wear og pistonskirt and improve the life of the piston has a good effect.In the research of the bionic non smooth piston skirt, processing hole on thepiston skirt can improve the wear resistance. But at present, the large diameter hole isless research. In this article, we are going to use the bionic method to design largediameter porous structure on piston skirt. Through simulation analysis and bench testto test the wear resistance of piston skirt. The main contents of this paper are asfollows:(1) The engine idling condition of piston skirt load calculation:In this paper, according to the later test bench used Jetta LX-2V engine piston asthe research object, according to the calculation of the maximum pressure of basic parameters of the engine and some parameters measured by the piston engine in idlespeed under the skirt and the pressure distribution on the piston skirt established forcedistribution function by the skirt combined with the measurement data of the thermalimager for finite element analysis of piston ready.(2) The standard finite element analysis of piston:Through reverse engineering technology combined with standard piston entityestablished standard piston3D solid model and then imported into the finite elementanalysis software ANSYS, according to the piston skirt stress and temperature, on thepiston is analyzed, the structure finite element thermal analysis, thermal structurecoupling analysis.(3) Design and finite element analysis of piston skirt bionic pass:Through reverse engineering technology combined with standard piston entityestablished standard piston3D solid model, and then imported into the finite elementanalysis software ANSYS, and according to the piston skirt stress and temperature, onthe piston is analyzed, the structure finite element thermal analysis, thermal structurecoupling analysis.(4) Engine wear test:According to the analysis, the structure of piston skirt analysis of thermalanalysis and thermal structural coupling results from3relative wear resistance ofbionic piston machining, and together with the standard piston engine bench test.Finally, by measuring the mass loss and the skirt part surface roughness and combinedwith the results of finite element analysis on wear resistance of piston skirt arecompared and analyzed, finally get the minimum amount of bionic piston wear inidling condition. Finally, through the actual operation of the engine pistoninterpretation of bionic piston skirt for the advantages of keeping oil film.
