| Water is the source of life, and the origin, development and continuation of life can’t leave water. Water resources is a basic natural resources, and it plays an irreplaceable important role in the process of human survival, reproduction and development. After the industrial revolution, science and technology almost changes every day, the world economy develop rapidly, urbanization and industrialization advance fast, and population soar. All this lead to the rising of water consumption, significantly more than the water recovery and update cycle. Thus many water problems arise such as water shortage, water pollution and soil and water loss. Water problems have become one of the global important resources problems.Wuhan has subtropical moist monsoon climate, with abundant precipitation. Wuhan has numerous rivers and lakes, and water resource is very rich, which make Wuhan known as the "city with hundreds of lakes". However, with the economic and social development of Wuhan city in recent years, "city with hundreds of lakes" is withering. Besides the lakes’shrinking, the water resources situation is also not optimistic. Firstly, water pollution is serious. As a result of the discharge of urban sewage and industrial waste water, rivers and lakes are seriously polluted. Secondly, the shortage of water conforming to quality standards is increasingly serious. Although Wuhan is rich in water resources, water pollution is serious. If the contaminated water spread to the water area that is not contaminated, the overall water quality will decline, which leads to the quantity of water resources people can exploit and utilize greatly reduces. With the future economic and social development of Wuhan city, the water resources situation is likely to deteriorate further. Water is the lifeblood of agriculture, the blood of industrial production, and the deterioration of water resources situation is bound to influence the social and economic development. Therefore, evaluating the vulnerability of water resources of Wuhan city has a positive and important practical significance. This paper chose Wuhan city as the research object, and analyzed the present situation of water resources and the problems existing in the process of the development and utilization of water resources. On the basis of referring to previous research results of water resources vulnerability and analyzing and understanding the present concept and connotation of water resources vulnerability, we generalized the concept and connotation of water resources vulnerability. We made an evaluation of the vulnerability of water resources system of Wuhan city of the year from 2003 to 2013 using the evaluation index system of water resources vulnerability based on DPSIR model and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model of water resources vulnerability, and then analyzed the evaluation results. The research results show that the 11 years from 2003 to 2013, influenced by many factors, water resources system of Wuhan city in some years shows its vulnerability, with many unsafe factors. Second, the 11 years from 2003 to 2013, the vulnerability of water resources system of Wuhan city has dynamic change. Water resources vulnerability scoring in the year from 2003 to 2006 are generally low, at the non-vulnerability level, and the year after 2006, except water resources vulnerability scoring in 2008 and 2011 are low, the rest of the years’scoring are high. Water resources vulnerability of year of 2007, 2009,2012,2013 are all at mild vulnerability level and water resources vulnerability of 2010 is at moderate vulnerable level. Therefore, from the point of dynamic change, on the whole the degree of vulnerability of water resources of Wuhan city was generally increase in 11 years from 2003 to 2013. This dynamic change characteristic of the water resource vulnerability is consistent with the practice. The un-coordination with the fast development of economy and society and regional water resources system in Wuhan city is the main reason causing gradually aggravation of the vulnerability of water resources system.According to the evaluation results of the water resources vulnerability in Wuhan city, combining with the present situation of water resources and the problems existing in the process of the development and utilization of water resources, we put forward three measures to reduce the vulnerability of water resources in Wuhan city, in order to ensure the sound and rapid development of future society and economy of Wuhan city. Firstly, strengthen the unified planning and management of water resources. Secondly, increase income and reduce expenditure of water resources, improve the structure of supply and demand of water resources and improve water efficiency. Thirdly, prevent and control water pollution. |
