Research & Development Of The Equipment For Testing Service Life Of Grease In Rolling Bearing

Lubricating grease is one of the most important parts to reduce friction and wear in rolling bearings. The service life of grease is a major operational parameter among all the features in grease, which is a comprehensive reflection of physical-chemical property and life tests.It is effective that using test rig to detect grease service life. A series of grease tests are run under different conditions of speed and temperature to determine the grease service life.However, domestic industries for grease study are lacking in researching equipment for testing service life of grease. Faced with this situation, this thesis focuses on testing technology of the service life of grease, researching and developing(R&D) an equipment which is used to test grease service life. Finally, the life tests are carried out with a certain grease. The main research work is done as follows:(1)The research status and existed problems of the grease life testing technology in domestic and foreign are analyzed and discussed, also the main research contents is given in the thesis.(2)Analyzed the relationship between rolling bearing fatigue life and grease service life, the calculation methods of two kinds life are interpreted. Meanwhile, an approach to calculate reliability of grease service life is put forward combining with grease life tests.Through analyzing the factors which make the grease lead to failure, a experimental means of life tests of the grease is proposed.(3)According to function requirement of the equipment, the key structures of test rig are researched and designed, including axial loading mechanism and auxiliary bearing lubrication system. In the late stage of R&D, the test bench is debugged to meet the demand of grease life tests.(4)Finally the testing service life of grease is carried out on the life tests equipment.Under the different conditions of temperature and working revolution, the life tests of grease are researched and evaluated. The results show that grease service life have direct correlation to temperature and working revolution. In addition, considering the high temperature effecting on grease service life, the evaporation tests of this grease are carried out and the test results show that the behavior of grease evaporation is negligible to the grease service life.
