TBM is a large factory tunnel construction operating system, which integrates mechanics, hydraulic, electronic, laser technology as a whole. The TBM method has some advantages including good tunneling speed, short construction period, friendly to the ecological environment, good work environment, high comprehensive benefits. With the construction of China’s massive infrastructure, TBM will play an increasingly important role. This article firstly introduces TBM selection design from TBM selection principles, TBM type selection, determination of main technical parameters, selection of main components, selection of auxiliary supporting system and so on.We analysis the harm of extremely hard rock, weak deformation rock, rock burst, mud and water bursting, fault fracture zone, and how to safely through. Introduced the importance of TBM tunneling and guide system and introduced two commonly used TBM tunneling and guide system, PPS laser guidance system and VMT laser guidance system, from the definition of coordinate system and deviation, system structure and the principle, hardware and software. Introduces the mission and requirements of the TBM tunnel construction ventilation, then introduces Tunnel ventilation way, tunnel ventilation rate, duct system resistance, thermal equilibrium. Compare the advantages and disadvantages of diesel traction rail slag and continuous belt conveyor slag, and then respectively introduced their system composition, working principle, maintenance etc.
